Let Us Surrender to His Reign

Jeremiah 18:4
And the vessel he was making of clay was spoiled in the potter’s hand, and he reworked it into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to do.

God has the power and the authority to raise up nations to do His good work. He also may dispose of nations as He sees fit if they do not please Him. He certainly has the power to rule over individual lives. He will always rule and reign perfectly according to His justice and His goodness.

Our Father in heaven rules over the lives of all men through His Son, Jesus. Jesus puts His hands on each of us to insure that we are molded uniquely in accordance with the Father’s plans for our lives. Jesus is the Great Potter. He keeps His hands on us, His clay, at all times. He is in no hurry to form us according to His purposes. He knows that He will take whatever time is necessary to get us to conform to the purposes that His Father has for our lives. He will even break us, the clay, if it is necessary for Him to see us reach our chosen form.

As the clay, all we have to do is surrender to the hands of the potter on our lives. From the point of surrender, we should have no concerns for the potter will form us perfectly. We simply wait on the glory of our finishing.

Let us surrender all that we are to the hands of the Great Potter. Let us rejoice in knowing that there is no better place to be than in His hands.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, we thank You that You have good and perfect plans for our lives. We thank You for Your patience as You mold us into the good and faithful servants that will stand before You one day in the image of Your Son, Jesus. We pray for the grace to surrender to the hands of Your Son on our lives. We pray for the strength to endure through the shaping process. May we become the perfect vessels of Your love that You created us to be. We ask all these things in the name of the Great Potter, Jesus Christ.

Spirit-filled Lifestyle is the Foundation for a Fruit-filled Life

John 17:22
The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one.

Jesus prayed that all of His disciples might be as one, united in the fullness of the Godhead – Father, Son and Holy Ghost. In this fullness, Jesus wanted all of His disciples to have the glory that He shared with the Father. He wanted His disciples to have the holy character that He had. He wanted His disciples to lead fruit-filled lives supernaturally inspired by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Jesus knew and taught that this was all possible through Him.

Psalm 139 confirms that a life like the one that Jesus prayed for His disciples is possible for each of us. Each one of us is wonderfully made by God. Just as God created every aspect of the universe, He created each of us to fulfill a unique and wonderful element of His plan for all eternity. Through His Son, he released capabilities to us that are beyond our imagination.

Our flesh will always limit us as we try to reach the awesome and productive place that is ours through our relationship with Jesus Christ. We will only reach the fullness of our lives when we surrender completely to Our Savior so that He can give us the glory that was given to Him. We are freed to become all that the Creator of the Universe planned for us to be when we let go of our carnal lives and grasp on to our supernatural lives through Jesus Christ.

Let us become one with the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. Let us fulfill the unique purposes that Our Father in heaven set aside for us before we were even formed in our mothers’ wombs. Let us rejoice in knowing that we will stand in the glory that Jesus has set aside for each of us.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, we thank You that we were formed in our mothers’ wombs with the exact set of capabilities that You set aside for us to be able to serve You for all eternity. We praise You that we were fearfully and wonderfully made in accordance with Your perfect plans. We pray, Lord, that Your Holy Spirit will reveal to us the frailties of our flesh that grieve You, so that we may turn away from them all. May we grasp the fullness of the way everlasting that You have provided us through Your Son. May we be one with You just as the Son is one with You. We ask all these things in the name of the Son of the Most High God, Jesus Christ.

Victory Was Assured by Our Suffering Savior

Luke 18:34
But they understood none of these things.

In the Gospel of Luke, we read how the apostles were told in advance about all the suffering that their Master was about to endure. They were told the details concerning His coming crucifixion and they were told about His glorious rising from the grave on the third day. Yet they understood none of these things.

The apostles did not understand because they could only see failure in Jesus’ destiny. They could only feel the heartbreak of losing their teacher. They could only visualize their promised King. They could not visualize their suffering Savior. They could not see that God considered it all a tremendous triumph. They could not see that they would soon show the world the way, the truth and the life that Jesus had come to show them.

The most difficult thing about understanding the purpose that God has for our lives is that we are quick to seek God’s blessings, but we are slow to realize that God is in sovereign control. We are baffled by our trials. We allow them to hold off our calling in Christ, because we only see our own pain in our trials and we do not see Almighty God who is working out all things for His purposes.

Let us come into communion with Our Savior and recognize the He is preparing us for a life according to His will and His purposes. Let us find the understanding that we need through the things that He reveals to us. Let us move forward in our calling by building on what we learn.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, we thank You that You have a perfect plan for our lives. We bless the name of Jesus Christ, who made it possible for us to fulfill the plans that You have set aside for us. We pray, Lord, that You will open our eyes so that we may see past the sorrows in our lives. We pray that You will open our hearts in communion with You so that we may see the triumph that You have planned for us. May we live our lives without fear, knowing that we are in Your hands, living according to Your purposes. May it all be for Your glory, the glory of Jesus and the glory of the Holy Spirit. We ask all these things in the name of the Strength of Our Lives, Jesus Christ.
