Through Christ We Can Seek the Promises of God Without Being Overwhelmed by the Challenges

Deuteronomy 11:11-12
But the land that you are going over to possess is a land of hills and valleys, which drinks water by the rain from heaven, a land that the LORD your God cares for. The eyes of the LORD your God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year to the end of the year.

The Lord is our provider. He provides everything. He gave us life. He sustains us. He grants us eternal life through His Son, Jesus. He endows us with the riches of His Kingdom for all eternity.

All we have to do is receive His Son as Our Savior and through our faith in His promises step out of the land in which we are living and into the land that God has set aside for us. It will mean that we will look past those things that we think are unsurmountable. We will seek the promise and not get overwhelmed by the problem. We will rely on God and not ourselves to be the source of our needs.

Once we turn our lives over to God and surrender to the reign of His Son in our lives, all of our needs will be met. Provision may come from our own hands as God favors us with productive ideas and capabilities. Provision may come from the hands of others or may even come from our enemies, if so directed by the Lord. But rest assured, provision will come directly from the hand of God and it will be according to His perfect timing for our lives.

Let us rest on the promises of Our Savior. Let us confidently await all that we need from this world and eagerly look for more than we can imagine from the hand of Our Lord.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the countless blessings that You shower us with each day. From breath to breath, You sustain us. We praise You and bless You for Your eyes never leave us. You are our constant comfort and provision. We pray that Your Holy Spirit will teach us, Lord, to rest in Your promises. We ask that Your Holy Spirit strengthen us, Lord, so that we may step out of the world of the flesh into kingdom living. We ask all these things in the name of Our Omniscient King, Jesus Christ.

Let Us Fill Our Hearts Daily with Thanks for Our All-Sufficient Lord

1 Chronicles 29:13
Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name.

King David was given unimaginable riches to pass along to his son, Solomon, who had been chosen by God to build the temple. As the riches were collected, all the people came together and brought the things that they could contribute to the building of the temple. Think of the immense pleasure and satisfaction that David felt as he stood over this assembly. He captured the moment perfectly.

David praised the Lord in the presence of the whole assembly, saying, “Praise be to you, Lord, the God of our father Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all. Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all. Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name.
1 Chronicles 29:10-13

As we leave the memories of the past Thanksgiving Day, may the gratitude that we felt and expressed extend beyond the table top into our lives everyday. May the world see our joy as we live in the fullness of the gift of salvation and the certain provision of a place in the kingdom of God for all eternity.

Let us fill our hearts daily with thanks and praise for Our All Sufficient Lord. Let the world know us by our joy as we celebrate the unimaginable treasures that we have been given through the loving kindness of Almighty God.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, we thank You for every provision that we have been given on this earth. We give thanks and praise Your glorious name for the eternal provision given through Your Son, Jesus. We pray, Lord, that we will have thanksgiving in our hearts every single moment that we breathe. We ask that we will find joy in the many riches that You have provided, especially in the joy that You have provided through the treasure that is our families and our friends. May our joy and thanksgiving draw those around us to Your Son, Jesus, and the eternal provision that He holds for them. We ask all these things in the name of One worthy of all praise, Jesus Christ.

The Passion of the Treasure Hunters

Matthew 13:44
The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.

Every period in history has been marked by people who set out in expectation of finding hidden treasures. All of these treasure hunters have had the same goal. They sought to become suddenly rich. They also shared something else. Their passion to become rich drove them to give up all that they had in order to pursue their treasure.

Like these treasure hunters of times gone by, we would do well to find a passion for seeking the treasure that is the kingdom of heaven. We should be willing to give up all that we have in order to pursue this treasure of unmeasurable worth. Our efforts to attain this treasure must be the most important thing in our lives. We cannot be undecided or unsure about what we are seeking. We will only find the kingdom of heaven if we are desperate and passionate to receive it.

When we recognize Jesus Christ as the Pearl of Great Price, all other things should become worthless to us. As we recognize what Jesus Christ gave up for us, should we not be willing to give up everything for Him? In truth, there is no valuable consideration that can be given up for Him. It is our willingness to part with our sinful nature that provides all the honors, riches and profits of the kingdom of heaven.

Let us surrender all that we are and all that we have to Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Let us exchange all of the treasures of this world for the unmeasurable treasures of the kingdom of God. May we let our passion for Jesus be the foundation of our lives.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the great treasure that You have set aside for us in heaven. We exalt the name of Jesus Christ, the Pearl of Great Price, who has made it possible for us to live for all eternity in Your kingdom. We pray that Your Holy Spirit will guide us to experience the fullness of Your kingdom here on earth. May the blessings and the lessons that Your Holy Spirit brings to us for our joy and our enlightenment help us to find our passion for Jesus Christ. May we live our lives entirely for the honor and glory of You, Father, Your Son and Your Holy Spirit. We ask all these things in the name of the Treasure of all treasures, Jesus Christ.

Every Person in Heaven will be Holy

Romans 5:10
For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.

God is holy, holy, holy. Sin cannot exist in His presence. To have any type of sin remaining means eternal separation from the Father in heaven. Thus, every person in heaven must be without sin. There cannot be even the slightest stain. Every person in heaven will be holy.

Jesus gave up His life for the atonement of all sin. He died to save us from the penalty of our sin. He died to work a great change in us. He died so that we might be acceptable in the presence of His Father in heaven.

The Good News of the Gospel is that God provided the way for our complete cleansing through the death of His Son, Jesus, on the Cross. It is the shed blood of Jesus that washes us clean and allows us to stand before the Father white as snow forever. Our Heavenly Father required nothing from us except to accept Jesus as Our Savior. Jesus did all that was required for us to stand before Almighty God. Everything that was required was finished on the Cross.

Let us give thanks to Our Redeemer King who gave up His life on earth so that we might have eternal life. Let us live in the fullness of the reconciliation that He provided for us with Our Heavenly Father. Let us seek the Holy Spirit to help us live worthy and holy lives here on earth as we prepare for our eternal holiness.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, we thank You for allowing us to have eternal access to Your heavenly kingdom. We praise You. We love You. We bless Your name. We rejoice in knowing that we will worship You forever. We pray that the Holy Spirit will reveal to us everything in our lives that is displeasing to You. We ask for the grace to walk the perfect path of sanctification that You have set aside for us through the sacrifice of Your Son. May we live in the fullness of the One who gave His life for us. May we surrender daily to our Blessed Hope and Assurance, Jesus Christ.
