The Death of Old Self

Jesus became man so that He could die for our sins.  As He comes to dwell within us, we must allow our old lives of sin to die. 

The old self of the flesh and the new self in Christ cannot abide together.  To try to hold on to the old life once Christ has arrived is to enter into a struggle that is filled with endless pain.  The new life of abundant joy is found only in the death of the old life.
